The Size of the African Continent


This is an old map and even older news! But a colleague just showed the above map to me and I found it eye-opening, with North America, the lower 48 states of the USA, China, India and other landmasses not filling up the area that is the African landmass. Of course, this is from Strangemaps.

If you mean North America only as the USA without Alaska and oh yeah... Canada and Mexico. Then you are exactly correct. If you actually include "North America" as us Canadians understand the continent than you wouldn't get much more into Africa. No big deal. NA = 24,247,039 sq km.
