An Introduction to LiDAR Technology

LiDAR is becoming hot topic both in Rhode Island and the region. New LiDAR data are slowly being made available and more acquisitions are being considered in the region. This seminar looks to introduce GIS andremote sensing practitioners to LiDAR technology. Mission planning considerations, processing techniques, and examples & demonstrations ofhow LiDAR is used to support a variety of applications will be discussed. This seminar will be taught by experts from both EarthData and ESRI, and as such their products and services with respect to LiDAR will be featured.

This seminar is free and open to the public. The URI Geospatial Extension Program, National Park Service Coastal and Barrier Network, URI Coastal Institute, and RIGIS are partnering to sponsor this event.
